How to Dress for a Black-Tie Event

Black-tie is the one dress code that rewards restraint. The goal isn't the boldest piece in the room, it's the most considered one. Clean lines, a single strong colour or a true black, and fabric with enough weight to move well under evening light.

Floor-length isn't mandatory, but proportion is: if you go shorter, balance it with a more structured top half. If you go long, keep the silhouette narrow rather than voluminous, it reads more expensive and photographs better.

Jewellery should support the outfit, not compete with it. One statement piece, earrings or a necklace, rarely both, is usually enough when the dress itself has presence.

Our Corporate and Dinner edits both carry pieces that work here; if nothing fits exactly right, this is precisely the kind of request our atelier is built for.
