Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Udemé Atelier Limited collects, why, and how it’s handled.

1. What we collect

• Contact details: name, email, phone number, delivery address.
• Order details: items purchased, sizes, colours, fit notes.
• Custom design and appointment details you submit through “Make It Yours” or “Book the Atelier,” including inspiration images you choose to upload.
• Basic usage data (pages visited) to keep the site working well, and — only if you accept cookies when asked — analytics and advertising data via Google Analytics and the Meta (Facebook/ Instagram) Pixel. See “Cookies and tracking” below.

2. Cookies and tracking

We use three kinds of cookies:

• Essential — keep your cart, sign-in, and checkout working. These are always on; the site can’t function without them.
• Style quiz — remembers your “Your Udemé Edit” answers on your device. See section 5.
• Analytics and advertising — Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel, which help us understand site traffic and measure the performance of our ads on Instagram and Facebook. These only load if you accept them in the cookie banner, and you can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser’s local storage for this site, which brings the banner back.

3. What we don’t collect

We never see or store your card or bank details, payment is handled directly by Paystack under their own security standards.

4. How we use your information

• To process and deliver your order.
• To respond to custom design requests and appointment bookings.
• To send order updates, receipts, and, where relevant, styling recommendations.
• To improve the site and our collections.
• To send occasional marketing emails (new collections, promotions) if you’ve subscribed — every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing never affects order or account emails.

5. Your Style ID

If you take our style quiz, your answers are stored in a browser cookie on your device to personalise your “Your Udemé Edit” recommendations. This is not linked to your identity unless you also place an order, and you can clear it at any time by clearing your browser cookies.

6. Sharing

We share only what’s necessary to fulfil your order or run the site: payment details with Paystack, delivery details with our courier partners, and — only with cookie consent — anonymised usage data with Google (Analytics) and Meta (Pixel). We do not sell your personal information.

7. How long we keep it

Order and transaction records are kept for as long as required for tax, accounting, and dispute purposes, then deleted or anonymised. Custom design and appointment details are kept for as long as reasonably needed to fulfil the request, plus a short period after for follow-up. Analytics data is retained according to Google’s and Meta’s own standard retention periods, which you can find in their respective privacy policies.

8. Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, you can ask us to access, correct, delete, or export the personal information we hold about you, or object to how it’s used, at any time by emailing shopudeme@gmail.com. Udemé Atelier Limited is the data controller for the information described in this policy.
