How to measure yourself
Use a soft tape measure over light clothing or bare skin, whichever you’ll be wearing under the piece. Keep the tape level and snug but not tight, you should be able to slide two fingers underneath it comfortably.

- 1. Bust
- Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your bust, keeping it horizontal across your back, not pulled up or down. Breathe normally as you read the number.
- 2. Waist
- Find your natural waistline, the narrowest point, usually just above the belly button, and just below your ribcage. Bend slightly to one side, if it creases, you’ve found it.
- 3. Hips
- Stand with feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat, roughly 20cm below your waistline for most people.
Between two sizes?
Size up for structured pieces (corporate sets, suits) and consider sizing to your largest measurement for fitted styles, it’s easier to take a waist in than let a bust out.
Still unsure? Add your exact measurements in the “Fit notes” field on any product page, or ask for personal shopping help before you order, we’ll check the fit against the pattern for you.
UK / US / EU size chart
Measurements are approximate and used as a general guide, exact fit can vary slightly by style and fabric. Nigerian sizing follows the same numbering as UK.

Understanding fit language
Every product page describes how a piece is meant to sit. Here’s what those words mean on the body.
- Tailored
- Closer to the body through the waist and hip, structured, a true-to-measurement fit.
- Relaxed
- Room to move, sits away from the body without being oversized. Size to your usual measurement.
- Fitted
- Closest to the body throughout, some pieces have stretch, check the product's fabric note.
- Wide-leg / A-line
- Fitted through the waist, then falls away, forgiving through the hip and thigh.
- As Shown
- One size or colourway only for this style, check the size selector for what's available.
Shopping for your shape
Sizing tells you which number to pick, this tells you which silhouette will do the most for you. Most women are a blend, use whichever description feels closest.
Hourglass
Bust and hips are close in measurement, waist is notably narrower.
Your waist is the star. Pieces that nip in at the natural waistline honour the shape you already have, nothing needs to be disguised.
Sashed waists, wrap silhouettes, fitted sets. Try: Jaycynth Set, Ivana Set.
Pear
Hips measure fuller than the bust, waist is defined.
Balance is the goal, drawing a little attention upward and skimming, not clinging, through the hip.
Statement necklines, structured shoulders, A-line skirts. Try: Aria Dress, Camila Set.
Apple
Fuller through the middle, with a less defined waist.
Empire waists and fluid fabric that fall from just under the bust create shape without sitting tight anywhere that feels uncomfortable.
Peplum tops, empire-waist dresses, wide-leg trousers. Try: Sally Set, Dreamy Dress.
Rectangle
Bust, waist, and hips are close in measurement.
You can create curves rather than follow them, peplums, belts, and paneling all add definition at the waist.
Peplum sets, belted waists, fit-and-flare. Try: Carolyn Set, Mirabel Dress.
